ISABELLE THE II
ISABELLE II IS A BODY THAT REFUSES TO STAY WHOLE.
THE FORM IS PRESENT, BUT IT DOES NOT HOLD A SINGLE STRUCTURE. IT BENDS, SPLITS, AND REASSEMBLES IN WAYS THAT FEEL BOTH INTIMATE AND UNSTABLE. THE GAZE IS THERE, BUT IT DOES NOT FIX ITSELF IN ONE PLACE. IT MOVES THROUGH THE BODY, AS IF IDENTITY IS NOT LOCATED IN THE FACE, BUT SCATTERED ACROSS EXPERIENCE.
THIS IS NOT DISTORTION AS DAMAGE. THIS IS DISTORTION AS LANGUAGE.
A BODY THAT HAS FELT, ABSORBED, AND CHANGED. FRAGMENTS DO NOT HIDE EACH OTHER. THEY EXIST TOGETHER, CREATING A PRESENCE THAT IS MULTIPLE, SENSUAL, AND UNRESOLVED.
THIS IS NOT A PORTRAIT OF SOMEONE AS THEY ARE. THIS IS A PORTRAIT OF SOMEONE AS THEY ARE BECOMING.
